Command Sgt. Maj. Randall Wise enlisted into the U.S. Army in November 1995, attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis, Virginia. Upon completion of his training, he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty code of 67U, Medium Helicopter Repairer. His additional military education includes Enlisted Combat Skills, Airborne School, SERE-C High Risk, Aviation Accident Prevention Course, Airload Planner’s Course, Air Movement Operations Course, Lean Six Sigma, the Basic Leader Course, the Advanced Leader Course, the Senior Leader Course, the First Sergeant’s Course, and the resident Sergeants Major Course (Class 65) at the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy. He has earned an associate degree in Applied Science in Administrative and Management Studies with Excelsior College and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics with Embry Riddle Aeronautical University as well as his Airframe and Powerplant Certification with the FAA.
Wise’s assignments include MH-47E Aircraft Mechanic and Technical Inspector, Delta Company, 2/160th SOAR (ABN); MH-47E Nonrated Crewmember, Alpha Company, 2/160th SOAR (ABN) Fort Campbell, Kentucky; MH-47E Nonrated Crewmember, Echo Company, 160th SOAR (ABN), Teagu, Korea; MH-47E Maintenance Platoon Sergeant, Delta Company, 2/160th SOAR (ABN); MH-47G Flight Platoon Sergeant, Bravo Company, 2/160th SOAR (ABN); Recruiting NCOIC, HHC 160th SOAR (ABN), First Sergeant, Bravo Company, 1/160th SOAR (ABN); First Sergeant, Alpha Company, 2/160th SOAR (ABN); First Sergeant, Delta Company, 2/160th SOAR (ABN) at Fort Campbell. His last assignment was serving as the battalion command sergeant major for 1-227th Attack Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, at Fort Hood, Texas.
Wise’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Korea Defense Service Medal, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon, NATO Medal, the Presidential Unit Citation, Joint Meritorious Unit Commendation, Valorous Unit Award, and the Army Superior Unit Award. He has also been awarded the Master Aviation Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Honorable Order of St. Michael (Bronze) from the Army Aviation Association of America.
Wise’s deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and numerous contingencies worldwide.
