Command Sgt. Maj. Frederick D. Jordan is from Clermont, Florida. He enlisted in the United States Army on December 1, 1993. He attended basic training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Eustis, Virginia. He is a graduate of the Warrior Leaders Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Advance Noncommissioned Officers Course, the United States Army Drill Sergeant School, First Sergeant’s Course, the Army Inspector General School and United States Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 62). He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management from Columbia Southern University.
During his career, Jordan has served in a variety of leadership positions, including Squad Leader, Section Sergeant, Maintenance Supervisor, Technical Inspector, Maintenance Test Pilot Instructor, Platoon Sergeant, Drill Sergeant and First Sergeant, Support Operations SGM, Brigade Operations Sergeant Major, and Battalion Command Sergeant Major.

Jordan has served one tour in Iraq, two tours in Afghanistan, one tour in Kuwait, two tours in Korea, and one tour in Germany. His CONUS assignments include Hunter Army Airfield, Fort Rucker, Fort Eustis, Fort Drum, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Jordan’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal (2nd award), Meritorious Service Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters, the Army Achievement Medal with four Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Ribbon with Bronze Star, the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 5), Army Service ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 3), NATO Medal, Drill Sergeant Badge and Master Aviation Crewmember Badge.
