Unexploded Ordnance Awareness is essential when utilizing Fort Rucker's training opportunities. Historically, Fort Rucker live fire training included field artillery, mortar fire, automatic grenade fire, and other dud producing weapons training. Occasionally, rounds are discovered on the surface through weathering effects or construction. These rounds are referred to as UXO. Fort Rucker's Range Branch is the primary organization responsible for the tracking and clearance of UXO discovered on the installation. In the event of UXO discovery in a training area or on a construction site, contact the Fort Rucker Range Operations at (334) 255-4303 and/or the MP desk at (334) 255-2222.
