Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security

Our mission is to take care of Soldiers, Family Members, and Civilians and set the conditions for Mission success. We do that by serving as the Fort Rucker staff proponent for contingency planning and execution, management of antiterrorism and emergency management programs, managing current operations, providing the command group with command and control capability, providing training support to include training devices and range operations, visual information services, security and foreign disclosure programs, and severe weather warning dissemination for the installation.

The Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security serves as the Fort Rucker staff proponent for contingency and mobilization operations, training support operations, ranges, security and foreign disclosure programs, installation educational support programs, and weather forecast operations.

DPTMS directs, supervises and controls the resources assigned to the directorate; reviews and analyzes operations and reports on findings with recommendations for improvement, formulates, documents, and implements policies and procedures; and advises the garrison commander on matters which impact on assigned responsibilities.

DPTMS contains four distinct divisions with unique missions as follows:

  • The Plans, Operations, & Mobilization Division prepares and coordinates operational, emergency, disaster, force protection, mobilization & demobilization, and special plans, policies, and directives for the assigned/attached organizations and tenant units. The division also mans and operates the Installation Operations Center on a 24/7 basis.
  • The Training Division provides seamless support to our customers with training opportunities in meeting mission requirements. Our approach centers on full spectrum operations by enabling live, virtual and constructive training environments supported by ammunition, training lands, and facilities. Our mission includes Visual Information studio services (DA photos), graphics arts, video, audio, multimedia and presentation support services and Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations to meet training objectives.
  • The Security Division administers Department of the Army Information, Personnel and Industrial Security and Foreign Disclosure programs.
