Warrant Officer Career College

The mission of the Warrant Officer Career College is to educate and train warrant officer candidates and senior warrant officers at key points in their career. WOCC serves as the focal point for U.S. Army warrant officer professional and leader development matters.

Functionally, WOCC serves as Training and Doctrine Command's executive agent for all common-core warrant officer training issues; oversees warrant officer eductions; develops and administers the active and reserve component Warrant Officer Candidate Course, Warrant Officer Staff Course and Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course; coordinates the development, design and implementation of the common-core elements of the Warrant Officer Basic and Advanced Courses with Headquarters Department of the Army agencies, TRADOC, Army Reserve Personnel Command, National Guard Bureau and the various warrant officer branch proponent offices.

The Warrant Officer Candidate School is the sole source of appointment for all U.S. Army Warrant Officers. Training, Advising, and Counseling officers, with academic instructors, evaluate each candidate’s potential to become an Army Warrant Officer, while simultaneously training and mentoring each Warrant Officer Candidate with the needed tools for a successful career as an officer.

The TAC Officer Certification Course prepares Warrant Officers to fulfill the duties expected of a TAC Officer.  Attendees have been specially selected to attend.  Successful completion of TCC is part of the certification process which prepares TACs to assume the important responsibility of developing Warrant Officer Candidates at Fort Rucker and in WOCS conducted at Army National Guard Regional Training Institutes.  The distributed learning phase and 3-week resident phase is administered only by WOCC.

The Warrant Officer Senior Staff Course is a two phase course consisting of Phase 1 and a four week Phase 2 course attended by the Army's most senior warrant officers. Only the WOCC teaches WOSSC. The educational goal is to provide senior CW4s or new CW5s with the master-level education, knowledge and influential leadership skills necessary to apply their technical expertise in support of leaders on strategic level JIIM staffs during full spectrum operations. The curriculum focuses on topics relevant to today's Army such as staff skills, training doctrine, force integration, leader development, contemporary operational environment, insurgency, counterinsurgency, creative thinking, and critical thinking techniques.
