The Fort Rucker Public Affairs responds to media queries, reviews manuscripts, conducts press conferences and produces news releases, public service announcements and media advisories. Post PAO professionals escort media and assist with the dissemination of information to Soldiers and Families on post and to people living in the Wiregrass region.
News organizations interested in covering the mission and events at Fort Rucker or filming on the installation must coordinate with PAO by calling (334) 255-2252.
Groups from the civilian community who wish to tour the installation should coordinate their visits with PAO. Requests for speakers, Soldier participation at community events, and display of military equipment should also be coordinated through the PAO by calling (334) 255-2474.
The Command Information Division produces the Army Flier, a weekly civilian enterprise newspaper with a circulation of 10,000, and manages the Fort Rucker website and social media. Command Information can be reached by calling (334) 255-1239.
The Army Flier is the commander’s official newspaper for Fort Rucker. It is published each Thursday and is available free of charge to everyone on Fort Rucker. Each edition contains information for Soldiers (active and retired), Department of the Army civilians, contractors working on Fort Rucker and Family members.

The Fort Rucker Public Affairs Office works closely with local organizations, city and government officials, chambers of commerce and communities surrounding Fort Rucker to foster positive working relationships with the people of the Wiregrass.
PAO helps arrange visits for organized groups. Requests for speakers and Soldier participation in community events are coordinated through the Public Affairs Office.

Visitors coming to Fort Rucker who do not have a DOD-issued identification are subject to a background check in order to obtain a Visitor Access Badge before they are allowed to enter the installation. For information on obtaining a visitor's badge, please click here.
The Fort Rucker Public Affairs Office works with newspaper, television, radio and magazine reporters, and book authors to provide information about the installation, its people and operations to members of the community at large. Fort Rucker policy requires that all news media be escorted when on the installation.
