Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security

The Directorate of Plans, Training, Mobilization and Security serves as the Fort Rucker staff proponent for contingency and mobilization operations, training support operations, airfield/airspace, ranges, security and intelligence programs, installation educational support programs, and weather forecast operations.

DPTMS directs, supervises and controls the resources assigned to the directorate; reviews and analyzes operations and reports on findings with recommendations for improvement, formulates, documents, and implements policies and procedures; and advises the garrison commander on matters which impact on assigned responsibilities.

DPTMS contains four distinct divisions with unique missions as follows:

The Plans, Operations, & Mobilization Division prepares and coordinates operational, emergency, disaster, force protection, mobilization & demobilization, and special plans, policies, and directives for the assigned/attached organizations and tenant units. The division also mans and operates the Installation Operations Center on a 24/7 basis.

The Training Division coordinates and directs installation matters pertaining to Active Component (AC), Reserve Component, and Reserve Officer Training Corps support and training functions. Training Division operates the Training Support Center, provides training aids and device support, visual information, and multimedia support services and management. TSC operates and maintains the Installation range and training land complex.

The Security and Intelligence Division administers Department of the Army personnel, information, security, and intelligence programs.

The Airfield & Airspace Division develops, maintains, and enforces policy and utilization for all Fort Rucker airspace, flight training facilities, and remote training sites. The division also provides Operational Support Airlift Validator support, and weather forecasting/observer services.
